Club Level Lounges & Rooms Get a Reopening Date at Walt Disney World ResortsEver since Disney announced that they would be replacing the fan favorite FastPass for their new app called Genie, a lot of people have taken to their social media accounts to express their dismay that they will now have to pay for a service that was once free to them. That, and of course they also want to know more details about it, as there are several pros and cons when it comes to using the app. One of the pros though is that Walt Disney World resort and hotel guests will have early access to some Lightning Lane attractions. Here’s what you need to know.

Walt Disney World Update: Resort Hotel Guests Will Have Early Access To Lightning Lane Attractions

Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge Reopening August 26thReports say that while resort hotel guests won’t have the opportunity to book rides 60 days in advance, they will still be able to select their first attraction time for the day by using Genie+. What’s more, guests will be able to make Lightning Lane individual purchases at 7 am in the morning while those not staying at resorts cannot purchase Lightning Lane access until the park opens for the day. In other words, it pays to stay at a Disney resort or hotel, and wake up much earlier than everyone else.

As of press time, Disney has not released a list of the attractions available for both the paid Genie+ program and the Lightning Lane individual attractions program, including pricing. As many fans know by now, Genie, which will make its debut this fall, is a new digital service that will “maximize your park time, so you can have more fun,” according to the company.

The FastPass system at Walt Disney World was put on hiatus during the pandemic, and is being replaced permanently by Lightning Lane. The free service will be built into Disney Parks’ established apps along with a paid version called Disney Genie+ that allows guests to access the Lightning Lane for $15 at Disney World and $20 at Disneyland.
